Devotions II

(continued from last post) So Naaman gets all upset and says, "I thought that big prophet Elisha was gonna come out, meet me face to face, call on the name of the Lord God of Israel, and BOOM! I would be healed! But nooooo, I gotta go and dip in that yucky Jordan seven times! What's the big difference between the Jordan- all yucky and nasty- and the Abana and Pharpar rivers? What is he THINKING?!?" and stomps away. Well, to make a long story short, Naaman eventually does what Elisha tells him, and he is healed! All because of the good, kind, and respectful spirit of a teenage girl. That story alone makes me want to be like her!
I hope you all enjoyed my fun little story. The whole story is found in II Kings 5:2-14. Have a great day, everyone!!

Today in my devotions I read about a young girl who God used in a miraculous way. I Kings 5: 2-14. She was a capitve and servant of the household of Naaman, who was this really powerful guy that just happened to like taking over countries and small cities. She "just happened" to be the victim of his likings. So one day, Naaman wakes up and realizes he has this uncurable disease called leprosy, and he is really concerned about it. So this young girl (whom scholars say must have been around 12 or 13) speaks up to this really powerful guy and kindly tells him to go to the prohet Elisha in Israel. If I were Naaman, I would probably turn up my nose and say, "You're just the little maid. I'll go to the doc for a prescription, but thanks anyway." Instead, Naaman takes her advice and goes to Elisha. When he gets there, however, Elisha won't even come out to see him! He sends his servant out to tell Naaman to dip in the Jordan seven times. How will THAT work? (to be continued)

Hey y'all!! It is a new week and I am so excited!! New weeks are clean and fresh with no mistakes in them. Also, it is the first full week of fall! My next post should have some pics of fall or flowers. I am a TEEN!!!!

Almost two weeks ago was my birthday and I turned THIRTEEN YEARS OLD!!!!!!! I am sooo excited to see what God has planned for this next year of my life. I am hoping what He wants will come out over top of what I want. Now that I am a teenager, I am also hoping to use my teen years for His glory. Braces!!.....

On Tuesday of this week I got braces... they hurt REALLY REALLY badly now! I am trying to eat but not succeding. Smoothies and pudding have become my BFFs for the week!! Happy Fourth of July, everyone!! I hope you all really enjoyed Independence Day this year. I spent most of my day traveling back from Indiana- where I was visiting my great-grandparents for two weeks this summer! There was one not very good thing this summer though: my great-grandma had to go to the hospital because she was really sick. They found out that the lower part of her colon was twisted and infected, plus some other things that they found. Add all of them up, and that would make her really sick!! Please be praying for my great-grandma. Thanks and God bless you all on the Fourth of July!!

The sun is shining but I am still cold!! I thought that when the sun is shining and when the calendar says "May" that you are supposed to be warm... some times hot! =) But my hands are cold, my arms are cold, and my feet are cold. I hope i will get warmed up soon!!!! Brrrr...........

This warm weather we're having is GREAT!!! I love going outside! I wish i could go outside barefoot, but there is a 3- foot-long snake that has taken residence in our backyard, and I don't want to step on him when I don't have shoes on! YUCK!!! =( So, what are y'all doin' this week? I love a new week- a fresh, brand new week that we can do whatever with!! Give me some comments and tell me what's up!!!!!!!!!!

Today is another Wednesday, and I am sitting here at my computer wondering what to type. How many of you out there know this fact: 1, 984 years ago today Christ died on the cross for our sins. Math proves it!! Jesus was in the tomb 3 days and 3 NIGHTS - which means that today should be called Good Wednesday!! Let me know your thoughts about these interesting facts.

Our messed-up dryer

Right now our dryer is really messed up! On Tuesday, my mom found out that the dryer was spinning the clothes, but not drying them! I guess the heat thingie wasn't working. So, Dad tried to fix it, but that didn't work out too well. A few days ago our dryer was all out of order- the drum was lying sideways on our garage floor, the lid was crooked, and all the wires and stuff was everywhere!! It was a big mess, but Dad cleaned it all up before I could have the time to take a picture of it. Now, we are expecting a new washer and dryer set to come on Monday so that we can wash and dry our clothes!!

Today, I only had to do two classes for school, then I was given the rest of the day off!! I am pretty excited, because now I can play, watch a movie, or cuddle under a blanket with a good book. On Friday, October 29th, 2010, another special little life was added into this world. My little cousin, Savannah Grace, was born. I am sooooooo excited!! We went to visit her this evening, and she is adorable!! (I know that everyone says that about a newborn, but this time it is true!!) My aunt and uncle and all of the rest of the family are thanking God for this new healthy addition.

My GREAT Vacation!

For the last four weeks, I have been in Indiana, visiting my great-grandparents. It was really great! They own a lot of property (not as much as they used to, but it's still pretty big) so I had fun trying to explore it all. The woods, the field, the bug-infested barn, the large, rolling hills, and most of all, the basement of their house. Everything had some sort of adventure wound into it. It was all really fun! Some of it wasn't fun, though. Some of it was pretty serious. My great-grandpa fell and broke his leg at Thanksgiving, and they set the bone (that he broke) back with a metal rod. However, this rod was just a little too long, and it was poking into his muscle every time he took a step with that leg. I know, OW! I think that I would stay in bed all the time if I had that problem. Well, his surgery was scheduled for the 24th of July, but when that day came, his blood was too thin to do the surgery. So, they scheduled it for later the next week. My grandma had been staying there for six weeks already, and she was pretty stressed. So, she decided to leave a day earlier than planned. Well, after we left, my great-grandpa got a call. He went in, they checked his blood, and he was fine for surgery! We were already back home when we heard the news.So, yesterday, at noon, he had his surgery. He's fine now. I'm so happy that he's not in pain anymore!!!
